Special Orders

It’s been a little while since I posted.  The 9-5 job and the holidays sort of took over.  However, I did do some work on some special order items.

In October, I went to a festival to support the Konnarock Retreat House. If you aren’t familiar, you should check out their Facebook page.

While I was there, I had a special order to make some items for one of the volunteers’ two granddaughters.  She told me names and favorite colors and I created these items for her.

I hope that Ashlynn (5) and Emma (7) will like all the sparkle I gave them!

Then, when I attend the Union City Arts Festival, I was stationed next two super sweet ladies selling bags (I had to buy one) and jewelry.  Pam, the purse lady, has a great Etsy site as well.  Turns out we had an instant connection as she is from Hickory, NC.  If you have time, check her out.

She liked some metal storage containers I had, but wanted one in colors to match her booth.  She plans to use it when she is selling.

If you ever see something on my site, but would like it in different colors, please feel free to contact me.  I may be able to make it especially for you.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you are looking forward to the upcoming holiday season!

About Monkeying Around

Welcome to my blog, Monkeying Around. In my 9 to 5 life, I am a higher education professional with more than 15 years of experience in the field. I love my job, but I also have lots of outside interests. One of which is shopping antique stores, junk shops, Goodwill and other thrift stores, and yard sales to find fun items that can be re-purposed and used in some new way. Unfortunately, my hobby was taking over my home. So, I have started a business selling these items. I tried a booth a local venue but found their monthly fee to be too high - I was not making any profits. Now, I am trying some one-day local craft fairs and festivals and have created an Etsy shop - Monkeying Around. The shop name came from my sweet bonus son, Samuel. I've called him Monkey since I came into his life over 4 years ago. He is the cute face you see in the logo. I hope you will continue to follow my blog and that you will check out my Etsy site as well. Feel free to share both with your friends or on your Facebook page or Twitter.
