It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Standard

I might be an overachiever or I might just be OCD, but I am almost done with my Christmas shopping.  Actually, as much as I LOVE shopping, I HATE going into stores after Black Friday.  I was out and about this weekend, buying some gifts, which put me in the holiday mood.  I kind of want to re-do my Christmas tree this year and use a lot of burlap “stuff.”  So, I started Google-ing and here is some of the cute stuff I found.

How cute are these packages!

These ornaments would be a great addition to the tree, and seem pretty easy to make.

Another easy addition.

When I was visiting my BFF in Texas this past spring, I found some great burlap flowers similar to the ones below on a 90% off table.  I bought all they had.  They did not have the extra bling that you see here, so I added my own.  I sold them all at a craft fair I attended earlier this year.  Now, I really wish I had kept them.  Or, that I could find some more at 90% off.

What new ideas do you have for the holidays this year?

About Monkeying Around

Welcome to my blog, Monkeying Around. In my 9 to 5 life, I am a higher education professional with more than 15 years of experience in the field. I love my job, but I also have lots of outside interests. One of which is shopping antique stores, junk shops, Goodwill and other thrift stores, and yard sales to find fun items that can be re-purposed and used in some new way. Unfortunately, my hobby was taking over my home. So, I have started a business selling these items. I tried a booth a local venue but found their monthly fee to be too high - I was not making any profits. Now, I am trying some one-day local craft fairs and festivals and have created an Etsy shop - Monkeying Around. The shop name came from my sweet bonus son, Samuel. I've called him Monkey since I came into his life over 4 years ago. He is the cute face you see in the logo. I hope you will continue to follow my blog and that you will check out my Etsy site as well. Feel free to share both with your friends or on your Facebook page or Twitter.
